- GOLD TRIP won the Melbourne Cup in the Spring and showed great form in the Peter Young Stakes at Sandown Lakeside, finishing a close second. GOLD TRIP has a high chance of winning.
- MO'UNGA has performed well in both runs this preparation and has a good chance to win after stepping up to 2000m in the third run.
- BANKERS CHOICE is an outsider with a chance to win after placing in the Blamey Stakes at Flemington in the last run.
## Race 7 - GEORGE RYDER STAKES 1500m Class: Group 1, 3-Y-O & Up, Weight for Age 16:00
- ANAMOE has been the star of Australian racing, winning eight Group I races, including the Chipping Norton at Randwick in the last run. Though the back distance has been reduced, the stable is confident, and ANAMOE is expected to win again.
- ARTORIUS won the Canterbury Stakes in the first run after returning from three races in the UK and placed in the Caulfield Guineas at this distance range. ARTORIUS is likely to be the second-best horse in the race.

- SHADES OF ROSE, with seven wins from 10 starts, is also returning and has a good chance of finishing well, considering her successive trial wins.
- UNCOMMON JAMES has an impressive record of eight starts without finishing worse than second, with six wins, including the Oakleigh Plate last start. He is a genuine winning chance launching from an ideal gate.
- ASFOORA, who missed the start in the Oakleigh Plate in his last race, only needs to have an even start to be able to finish well.

- PALAISIPAN is returning and was placed in the Sheraco at this track and distance in the first-up race in the Spring. She seems to be in good form after a recent trial win and only needs to be close to her best to have a good chance of winning.
- LARKSPUR RUN finished second in the Guy Walter at her second run back from a break, indicating an improvement. If she improves again in her third run, she could finish well in the race.
- JUMP THE BROOM has placed in both runs this season and has the potential to place again.
